Experimental drug may help fight multiple sclerosis
One of the first pills to treat the "relapse-remitting" form of multiple sclerosis has been shown to fight the disease with few side effects.
The drug, Laquinimod, is still experimental, but experts say having a pill available would make therapy much more convenient for patients.
Currently approved drugs that target the inflammation associated with multiple sclerosis are all given by injection.
Laquinimod works by binding to receptors or immune cells. The study is published in the latest edition of 'The Lancet.'
