Common / Rare or Mysterious / other - SYMPTOMS of Multiple Sclerosis

Common Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

There are over 50 signs and symptoms linked with multiple sclerosis (MS). Your symptoms will vary in their duration, severity and treatment.

Mysterious or Rare Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis

Some MS symptoms are so strange or vague that doctors routinely misdiagnose them or ignore patients' complaints, leading to frustration and delayed diagnosis. Other symptoms occur infrequently, and doctors are simply not used to seeing them or treating them and patients may not know that they are linked to their MS.

MS Symptoms That Are Often Overlooked or Misdiagnosed

Even after a person is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), certain symptoms are often not taken seriously or people are told that these problems "could not possibly be related to their MS" - even by their neurologist or treating physician. Be assured that the following are very real symptoms of MS.

Understanding Your Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Symptoms

Multiple sclerosis (MS) has a wide range of symptoms and signs. From cognitive difficulties to problems controlling muscles, MS can have an effect on almost any body system. By knowing the symptoms you can more actively manage your MS.

Hi All!

1 - Does anyone also have Raynaud's Syndrome?

2 - Has anyone been told they have a high blood coagulation factor?

I'm trying to find out more info about both and am wondering if these things are related to or caused by my MS.

Many thanks,
Gina

Hi Gina,

You may want to use Google Search.
I personally have never heard of these two conditions, so I could not answer you.
Have you asked your doctors?

Regards,
Stuart

Thanks Stuart.

I've gotten lots of info on both from google but wanted to know if anyone who has MS on your site has delat w eiter and what the likelihood is of it being related to my MS. My docs are still a bit stumped right - I am working w/ 4 of them right now - my primary doc, an oncological hematologist, a vascular doc and my neurologist.

Hopefully we'll get it figured out and then I can be a source of info to others about all of this :)

Rejoice Always,
Gina

eHi Gina,
I have Raynaud's Syndrome and the doc said it was the MS. When I am having problems my fingers turn white and go numb. I also have a high platelet count, No one is sure what is causing this.
Hope this helps,
Debbie

Hi Gina,
Yes, I've got Raynaud's -- partially a primary MS symptom (which started with my left calf & foot, and has continued mostly in toes of both feet plus fingers), and also partially a secondary MS symptom (I try to lower my core body temp in order to function, which results in excessive cooling of extremities). I use toe warmers ("Grabber" brand, by subscription from Amazon.com) twice or more daily, even in summer, and keep hand warmers close by for those rare moments that I'm not using my hands. Best to you,
