La obesidad durante la adolescencia duplica el riesgo de esclerosis múltiple

MADRID, 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -


Las chicas adolescentes que están obesas podrían ser el doble de propensas a desarrollar esclerosis múltiple de adultas, según un estudio de la Escuela de Salud Pública de Harvard en Boston (Estados Unidos) que se publica en la revista 'Neurology'.

En la investigación participaron 238.371 mujeres del Estudio de Salud de las enfermeras y su segunda fase que tenían entre 25 y 55 años. Las mujeres respondieron a un cuestionario sobre su salud e información médica cada dos años. Durante el transcurso de 40 años, 593 de ellas desarrollaron esclerosis múltiple.
