What actually is, the Neurofilament light chain for MS?

 Blood levels of sNfL, a neuron-specific cytoskeletal protein, have emerged as a biomarker able to capture neuronal damage in multiple sclerosis and a wide variety of neurological conditions.

Background. Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) is a biomarker of neuronal damage that is used not only to monitor disease activity and response to drugs and to prognosticate disease course in people with multiple sclerosis on the group level.
